Vacations can be very expensive, but there are definitely ways to save money on a great vacation! Here are some great ideas on how to save money, but still have a vacation you will remember the rest of your life.
Your Destination
In my opinion, the best destination or place to go on a vacation, to save money, is the coast. Even if you do not live in the United States, the coast is a great place to vacation. Depending on where you live in the United States or where you want to actually go, will be up to the individuals. Vacationing somewhere near the ocean, makes for a great vacation.
Camping on the Beach
Camping is a great way to save money on your next vacation. Camping out on the beach is even better! There are plenty of places, along most coasts, that you can camp on the beach for free. All you need is tents and sleeping bags or comfortable blankets and pillows.
How to get there
The most inexpensive way to go, is probably using the most gas economy car available to you. Another great way to have a fun but still have an inexpensive vacation is to invite friends and family to go along. Find a vehicle that is very reliable and gas economical, that can hold as many of you that are going on the trip. An economical mini van that you can load up with vacationers, who will split the expenses is a great idea. It may seem uncomfortable to have so many people in one vehicle, but if you split up the driving, you can be at your destination in no time at all. The money you save by splitting the expenses can go for a hotel room when you get there or sometime during the vacation.
Take as much as you can
For your trip you will need to pack for your vacation wisely. Take just the necessary camping equipment, like a tent and blankets. Usually the coasts are very warm, but sometimes they are rainy and windy, so windbreakers or light coats are good to have. I used to take vacations such as these to South Padre Island or Key West Florida and I usually took lots of food. You can save a lot of money by bringing as much food as you can. If you have a good tent and lots of food you can stay on the beach in some areas indefinitely! Don't forget to bring your cameras and fishing poles!
